An independent nonprofit healthcare provider, it opened in 1999 and\u202fremains\u202fa safety net for 15% of greater Norwalk men, women, and children, including those who are uninsured, underinsured or otherwise unable to find health care within reach.\u202f\u202f<\/p><p>Over the last 26 years it has evolved into a\u202fnationally recognized\u202fcontinuum of care organization and provider of choice for pediatric, women\u2019s reproductive, adult, behavioral, and adult and pediatric-dental health, school-based, mobile, and wellness services.\u202f\u202fOur commitment to the greater Norwalk and Fairfield County community includes partnering and collaborating with organizations, agencies and grass roots groups to break down barriers , improve access and provide the highest quality care within reach of all.\u202f<\/p><p><b>Norwalk Community Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center.<\/b><\/p><p>Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is a community-based clinic that receives\u202fpart of its operating budget from\u202ffederal funding to provide comprehensive, high-quality primary care services to underserved, low-income, uninsured, or vulnerable populations.\u202fFQHCs\u202fmust serve high-need areas, offer sliding-scale fees based on ability to pay, and are governed by a patient-majority
